Mitch’s research looks at ways of reducing the risk of dementia in people who are over 65 and have memory issues is in their day to day life. He is focused on identifying if lifestyle changes such as an increase in physical exercise, a shift to a Mediterranean style diet or activities that keep the mind active, can reduce the risk of dementia.
ANU Art School
Rowan is a third-year visual arts student who is interested in the collaboration of the visual arts and sciences. She has created visual representations of each aspect of the program Mitch has developed and shown that these may have the power to improve the outcomes of people at risk of dementia.
